spoiler free review: the darkest minds

“The Darkest Minds tend to hide behind the most unlikely faces.”

For an unknown reason all the children under 16 in the country have gone sick. This illness has led to them all gaining a power, which are catergorised by colours; green being the least powerful and red being the most. Since no body understands what's going on and the kids can't control their powers all children are put away in working camps, the parents are being told they are trying to find a cure there and like that there is no danger.
Ruby is an orange, but when people decide orange and red are the most dangerous ones they decide to kill them all. So Ruby finds a way to make the camp leaders at her camp, Thurmond, think she is a green.
Ruby has to find a way to escape this hell that is the camp, but can she trust the people willing to help her, and where will she go next...

honestly the best way to say it is to just that this book is the bloody best. The story is pretty cool since it’s all pretty young kids struggling with their powers and there are many different powers which makes all the characters even more different and unique. I personally like how there is romance but it’s more in the background and not the main story. The story just never gets boring and there are things happening the entire time that make you sit on the edge of you seat throughout the entire book! Also I love all the characters, they for a change aren’t annoying and are all very unique, their personalities go great together but also cause the right amount of stress and drama.
The story line is very interesting since no one seems to know where the illness came from and that creates a lot of tension.

All in all I would highly recommend this book!
