Dutch School System

The dutch school system, even we don’t get it :p, so let’s get right into it.
So when you are 4 years old you go to something we call “base school”. The first two years are basically like kinder garden and after that you start learnig basic stuff, this continuous for 6 years (so two years of kinder garden and six of learning). After that you make a couple tests and you get a score out of that which is gonna decide for your middleschool. In what we call middleschool there are 5 levels: base, kader, mavo, havo and vwo, mavo is the average. This of course has nothing to do with who is smarter and who is more dumb, but it’s about what you are capable of doing. Base, kader and mavo are all 4 years, havo is 5 years and vwo is 6 years. After that you almost always go to study something again on different levels: mbo, hbo or wo. Those are all different amounts of years depending on the study and after that you will find a job! You obviously don’t have to study if you are okay with a job like working at thesupermarket, but most people decide to continue learning.

Well that’s all for today, hope you enjoyed and until next time
Get cozy c
